The Rambagh Gardens in Agra is very famous for it is
considered to be the first of the Mughal pleasure gardens
in India. Situated 3 km away from the Tomb of Itimad
Ud Daulah and 500 meters away from the Chini ka Rauza,
Rambagh Gardens was laid out by the first Mughal Emperor
called Babur. Design of the Rambagh Garden has a Persian
influence. It is a true replica of paradise as defined
in Islam in the Rambagh and Dayalbagh Gardens in Agra.
Rambagh Garden is also known as the Bagh-i-Gul Afshan.
This garden is set in the charbagh pattern with four
main divisions made by paths and waterways. There are
a number of fountains, channels and waterways in the
garden. Besides, another interesting feature of this
garden is that Mughal Emperor Babur was supposed to
have been buried here for a brief period of time before
being entombed in his burial chamber in Kabul.
Apart from Rambagh Garden, you can also visit the beautiful
garden called Dayalbagh Garden in Agra. The Dayal Bagh
Garden is situated 15 km from Agra. It is an important
pilgrimage site also. Known as the "garden of the
Supreme Lord", The Dayalbagh Garden is a seat of
the Radhasoami religious sect, founded in 1861 by Shri
Shiv Dayal Singh.
The Dayalbagh Garden is a combination of temple, gurudwara,
vihara and mosque. It is also the place of famous Radhasoami
memorial which is made of pure white marble and is 110
feet high. The memorial also boasts of impressive pillars.
