Delhi the Capital Territory of India is not only famous
for its rich historical background and old architectures.

look of Delhi city. Other than gardens with typical
Mughal design there are various other gardens which

Buddha Jayanti Park is situated at Sardar Patel Marg.
This park is inaugurated to celebrate the 2500 years
of Buddha's Great Salvation. At the time of inauguration
Bodhi Briksha was brought from Srilanka and planted
in the garden. The park is furnished with colorful flowers.
It is a pleasant place for evening walk. The park is
also a good picnic spot.
Deer park is a home for animals and birds. The park
is decorated with lofty green grasses, trees that create
shades and small water parts. Ornithologists love this
place because it is the residence of various kinds of
birds. There are Deer, soft Rabbit and Peacock. It is

morning walkers.
Delhi Ridge is an extension of Aravali hill range.
On the right bank of river Yamuna this vast green part
protects Delhi from the hit wave of Rajasthan desert.
The Ridge is divided into four parts. The place is the
home for almost two hundred species of birds. Delhi
Ridge maintains the ecological balance of Delhi.
Lodi Gardens are named after the last ruler of Lodi
dynasty Ibrahim Lodi in 1936. These gardens are situated
around the four monuments built by the Lodi dynasty.
The gardens have serene beauty. These gardens can give
you the sense of peace. Lodi gardens are enriched with
green trees and sprawling green grass.
Mahatma Gandhi Park is a park in old Delhi. It is
a small park with a historical past. The park during
the pre Independence period was known as the "Queen's
Park" or "Company Bagh". After Independence
the name was changed and renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Park.
The park has shady trees and green lawn. Amidst the
park there is a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a rest
zone for the tired tourists.
Situated at the heart of the city Nehru Park derived
its name from the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal
Nehru. The park acquires 80 acres of land. There are
number of green trees and colorful flowers in the park.
It has also a swimming pool and a snake's bar. In the
park various cultural activities take place. Among them
Morning Raga is a famous musical program that happens
every Sunday evening.
Opposite of Sunehri Majid in old Delhi situated the
Netaji Subhash Park. It is a small park with a statue
of the great Indian Nationalist Netaji Subhash Chandra
Bose. The park is famous for the malishwalas (Masseur).
Established in February 2003 the Garden of Five Senses
is a cherished destination for the local people and
the tourists. This 20 acre green land has colorful flowers,
spiral pathways, fountains, rocks, sculptures of stainless
steel. One part of the garden is called Khas Bagh which
is created in Mughal garden style. Far away from the
central area of the park there are food plaza and shopping
center.
