In the year 1592 Raja Man Singh started the construction
of famous Amber Fort and the work was completed under
the instruction of Sawai Man Singh. This old fort is
situated 11km away from Jaipur at the Aravali hill area.
Amber was the capital of Kachchawahas dynasty in ancient
time. The outer walls of the fort have a very ruff and
tuff look but the interior is totally different from
the exterior. The inner part of the fort is an architectural
splendor. It is the combination of Mughal and Rajput
architecture. The walls are decorated with pictures
of hunting, delicate mirror work and curving.
Trip to Rajasthan, After reaching the Amber Fort tourists usually take
an Elephant ride and enter through the Singh Pol Gateway.
The ride continues to the Jaleb Chawk. Here the road
is divided into two parts. One goes to the Shila Mata
temple and another to the actual palace. There is a
splendid gateway ornamented with pictures of Lord Ganesh.
Under the fort area there is a hall with marvelous pillar
architecture called Diwan- I- Am. One can find the combination
of typical Mughal and Rajput architecture in Sukh Nivas,
Jas Mandir and Charbagh garden.
Amber Fort Jaipur is constructed with marble and red sandstone.
The Maota Lake in front of the Amber Fort enhanced the
beauty of the fort. The mirrored image of the fort on
the water of the lake is an exotic sight.
