Chittorgarh Tourist Attractions - Earlier known as Chtrakut, Chittorgarh was named after a local Rajput ruler called Chitrang. History of Chittorgarh is replete with the sagas of gallantry and self sacrifice of Rajput men and women who bravely fought against those invaders who assailed the city of Chittorgarh three times in the medieval period. Owing to this fact, today the history of Chittorgarh is written in golden letters. And its glorious past can very well be experienced in its ruined forts and palaces, which have now become the major source of tourist attractions in Chittorgarh.

Chittorgarh Fort: to witness Rajput valiancy and sacrifices, this fort is the best place to seek. It is perched on steep180 m high hill. On your way to Chittorgarh Fort you will come across seven gates one after another. Two of the significant gates of this fort are Rampol and Surajpol.

Vijay Stambh or Tower of Victory: this tower was constructed by Maharana Kumbha in 1440 AD. It was built to commemorate his triumph over Mahmud Khilji. It is basically a 37 meter high 9 storied tower. This tower boasts of sculptures of Hindu deities.

Kirti Stambh or Tower of Fame: this 22 meter high 7-storied tower is consecrated to Adinath, the first Jain Teerthankar.

Rana Kumbha Palace: this is the place where queen Padmini and other women sacrificed their lives to protect their honor and pride. It is the most gigantic monument in the fort complex.

Padmini Palace: this enchanting palace is situated near the lotus pool with a pavilion.

Kalika Mata Temple: this temple is the symbol of power and bravery. It was actually the Sun Temple which was later in the 14th century turned into Kalika Mata Temple.

Besides, you can also give a visit to Kumbha Shyam Temple, Gaumukh Reservoir, Bhimtal Tank, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, and Archeological Museum.
