This marvelous fort stands on the rocky tableland on a 0 feet high hill and occupies an area of 700 acres. Chittorgarh palace, Chittorgarh was built by Rana Kumbha and this is the oldest monument among the rest of the monuments in Rajasthan. The other two very important traits of this palace are;

  -  The Kirti Stambha: This captivating stambha is the memorial dedicated to the first Jain tirthankara or the spiritual teacher and has 5 ft. statue of the saint. It is approximately 12th century old and is a seven storied structure
with 54 stairways.
  -  The Vijay Stambha: This is located at the foot of the fort and could be seen from the town itself. The height has the towering altitude of 12 ft and rests on a base of 47 sq.ft. and 10 ft high. The whole structure is sculpted with the happenings from the Mahabharata and Ramayana.
