The havelis in Rajasthan dot the desert landscape of
the region and they continue the tradition and culture
of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Havelis are typical example
of grandeur and Rajasthani architecture . You will be
amazed by the opulence and ornate décor of the
Rajasthan Havelis and here you will find beautiful murals,miniature
paintings,intricate stone carvings etc.
Some of the famous Havelis of Rajasthan are
Salim Singh Ki Haveli - This Havelis of Rajasthan
is opulent to describe in one word .Here there are huge
corridors, spacious rooms and hallways. This Havelis of Rajasthan belonged to Salim Singhji , the prime minister
in the Jaisalmer Royal court. It has five floors and
there two more floors above which were demolished as
no other building can be the same height as the royal
palace. There is a beautiful blue cupola roof shining
with intricate stone carvings and stunning murals.
Patwon Ki Haveli : This is majestic haveli with
a detailed and amazing structure in Rajasthan. This
was built by Guman Chand , a trader. Here there are
five huge suites , halls with pillars, huge corridors,
intricately decorated ceilings. There are murals on
the walls which depict the scenes of courts,villages
.And one room here is decorated fully with beautiful
frescoes. It was not like that , this Patwon ki haveli
took 50 years to complete.
Nathmalji Ki Haveli: The Nathmalji Ki Haveli
in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan has a unique architecture .This
is the perfect example of the sheer artistry of two
architect brothers who worked on two different wings
of the building . Though the creativity on both the
wings are totally different they blend perfectly where
they meet . There are two life size yellow sandstone
elephants at the entrance of the Nathmalji Ki Haveli
and also there are intricately carved Jharoka windows
and balconies .
Alsisar Haveli :Alsisar Haveli is located in
the pink city, Jaipur and it stands as a perfect example
to the splendor of the old days.It was rebuilt in 1982,
and here you will find elegance of traditional Rajput
architecture, Alsisar haveli now is a heritage hotel.
Samode Haveli : This was created by Rawal Sheo
Singhji who was a prime minister in the Jaipur Court,
Samode haveli is nestled in Jaipur and it was once a
royal residence. Though now it is transformed into a
heritage hotel and stands today as the vivid reminder
of days of yore.
