housed within a magnificent fort and palace built by
the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1570. The museum was set

of considerable antiquarian interest. It was known as
the Rajputana Museum with separate sections devoted
to sculptures, epigraphs, prehistoric antiquities, arms
and weapons.
