The museum displays the ancestral collections that have been built up by the successive rulers of Amer and Jaipur. The Art Gallery, housed in the Diwan-i-Aam is replete with miniature paintings, manuscripts, gigantic Mughal carpets, the Takhis-Rawan or the movable throne embossed with gold and silver.

Archaeological Museum, Amer – This is yet another popular Museums of Rajasthan that houses the archaeological evidences that have been recovered during excavations that were carried out in Rairh, Bairat, Sambhar, Nagar, Pamvar, Bansi and Virat Nagar. The visitors will also come across the sculptures and epigraphs collected from various sites in the erstwhile Jaipur State.

Government Museum, Ajmer – The museum is housed within a magnificent fort and palace built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1570. The museum was set up with the intention of preserving the unique objects of considerable antiquarian interest. It was known as the Rajputana Museum with separate sections devoted to sculptures, epigraphs, prehistoric antiquities, arms and weapons.
