Trekking in Kumaon in Uttaranchal :
Pithoragarh, which is in the eastern part bordering
Nepal in the east and Tibet in the north, is often referred
as 'miniature Kasmir'. Here along the Gori valley are
may interesting trekking routes like the Munsyari-Martoli-Milam-Ralam
glacier. When you go for trekking in the kali, Kuti

Bageshwar - Sunderdhunga - Pindari - Kafni Glacier
Trek :This is another option for Uttaranchal Trekking
located 36 km from kausani, where the rivers Gomti and
Saryu meet. You will find motorable road from Bageshwar
to Song in a 40Km stretch and there is a trekking trail
of 14kms to Dhakuri, 8km trek to khati and 7km trek
to jatoli from where the route bifurcates to Sunderdhunga
Pindari and Kafni.
Trekking in Garhwal in Uttaranchal :
There are a number of trek routes here in Garhwal Himalayas
like
Panch Kedar Trek : Panch Kedars which depict
the five different forms of the Lord Shivas known as
Kedarnath (3584m); Madmaheshwar (3289 m); Tungnath (3810
m); Rudranath (2134 m). You will get a breathtaking
view from each temple of the mountains.
Kedarnath - Vasuki Tal Trek: This trek route
begins from Gaurikumd,here there are sulphur springs
where one can have a refreshing dip. The trek from Gaurikund
to Rambara curves along the river Mandakini through
lush green forest and across beautiful water cascades.
The trek from Kedarnath to Vasuki Tal is an uninterrupted
rise along a goat track and it offers a picturesque
view of Chaukhamba peaks. The final trek to Vasuki Tal
is a descend for 1 km.
Dodi Tal : This is nestled at an elevation of
3024 m, north of Uttarkashi and lush forest of oak,
pine, Deodar and rhododendrons surround this region.
The trekking to Dodi Tal in Uttaranchal start from Uttarkashi
to Kalyani and can be reached by motor. Kalyani to Agoda
is smooth ascent through woods, fields and villages
on a mule track while the trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal
is rather precipitous and through dense forests.
Gangotri Kedarnath Trek: If you opt for this
trekking route you will move through the old pilgrim
route from Gangotri to Kedarnath. The trek begins from
Mala, after crossing the river Bhagirathi. Here the
picturesque view of the Garhwal Himalaya is very invigorating
and there are frequent ascent and descent.
Gangotri-Gaumukh-Nandavan-Tapovan Trek : Here you experience
mountain climbing, rock climbing, boulder-hopping and
glacier traversing. The trek route passes through orchards
of coniferous pine trees at chir-basa and birch at Bhojasa.
